Hi there Crafty Friends! Yep, this post is going to be a shocker! Neutral Hiedi, going pink at Christmas time. Who would have ever predicted this???? From bottle brush trees to shelf sitters to stuffies…this post is all about ‘dreaming’ in pink!
Just look at these adorable pink shelf sitters. I stenciled them with the gorgeous Snowflake and Winter Wonderland stencils and some Sparkling Copper chalk paste. ๐ MagnoliaDIY.com. I used some stretch canvas for the surfaces that I painted in a Waverly chalk acrylic pink, from Wal-mart. Tip: if you lightly sand stretched canvas, to get the little bumps off, and then spray a light coat of clear matte sealer on it, you will get a nice crisp stencil impression! These shelf sitters would look ‘dreamy’ anywhere in your home.
These Christmas trees are made from 2 chenille bedspreads that I rescued from Goodwill. Someone used to ‘dream’ while cuddled up under these warm spreads! I used Magnolia wood rounds ๐ MagnoliaDIY.com, for the bases and then inserted dowels into the trees, put the dowels in some wooden spools and round discs that I got from Hobby Lobby, and glued them all together with my hot glue gun. The fringe came from the edges of the bedspreads. The stars are from a multi-pack of stars that I picked up at Dollar Tree. This is such an easy, yet unique way to make trees to add to your Christmas decorations. If you are a green and red girl, you could just use the white bedspread and then embellish with red and green colors.
Here, I used Waverly Ballet Slipper pink acrylic paint from Wal-mart, to paint some hard covered books from Dollar Tree. After the paint was dry, I used a combination of Pattern Stencils and Flower Stencils, plus some Brilliant White Chalk Paste from Magnolia ๐ MagnoliaDIY.com, to give each of these books a different personality. I took a pink Nutcracker from Dollar Tree and some ribbon to finish off one of the books. Just think how much fun a pop of pink laying on your coffee table, standing up on your mantle or laying on a bookshelf would be! When I read myself to sleep, I often have pleasant ‘dreams’ about crafting!
One night when I couldn’t sleep, I started ‘dreaming’ about making some pink Santas from inexpensive chip brushes. The previous year I had made red Santas from chip brushes…so why not make PINK ones??? I dipped the brushes in some white acrylic paint and let them dry, so that the beards were already white. Then, I used pom poms, ribbon, white yarn, fake fur, and my favorite ink/chalk paste pens https://bit.ly/3tdPO9I to finish them off. Wouldn’t this be a fun project to do with your kids or grandkids?
Who would have ‘dreamt’ that tulle or inexpensive bottle brush trees could make such attractive decorations? I found this tulle, the bottle brush trees, and fairy lights at Dollar Tree. I used wood rounds from Magnolia https://bit.ly/3quMHZY, and the tray is something that I already had. Wouldn’t these be fun to display on a buffet or SO many other places in your home?
Of course, how could I ever ‘dream’ of finishing my Christmas crafting without making my trademark “stuffies”? For these “stuffies” I used cotton duck cloth, Waverly acrylic paints from Wal-mart, round sponge brushes from Dollar Tree, ribbon, and my favorite ink/chalk paste pens to add my signature dots and squiggles. My go to stuffing is from Wal-mart and is called Crafterโs Choice Polyfill.
