Hey Crafty Friends!  Today I want to share a bunch of tips and project ideas for making cute seasonal art pieces using Self-Adhesive Wall Tiles from Dollar Tree.  They have the look and feel of vintage tin ceiling tiles.  Super easy and very affordable!  You can make them for every season, holiday or occasion and put your own unique spin on them. Gotta love a good Dollar Tree Craft!

Supplies:

Self-Adhesive Wall Tiles – Dollar Tree –  They have the look of vintage tin but are actually a thin plastic that is easy to cut with a regular scissors.

Acrylic paint of your choice – available at most craft stores.  I personally like using Waverly Chalk Acrylic paint from Walmart.

Plastic Palette Knife – Dollar Tree –  I use these to scrape a thin coat of paint over the top of the ridges on the wall tiles.

Kitchen Scrubby Sponges – Your local grocery store.  I also use these to apply a thin coat of paint over the top of the ridges on the wall tiles.

Low temperature hot glue –  I prefer to use my Surebonder Cool Shot Mini.  It’s a great low temperature hot glue gun.  I have had way too many hot glue burns in the past and I have found that low temperature hot glue works just as well.  It is available at most craft stores and Walmart.

Instructions:

  1. Cut desired shape out of wall tile using regular scissors.  Discard the sticky backing.
  2. Paint the wall tile a solid color of paint and allow to dry.
  3. Apply contrasting color over ridges of the wall tile using palette knife or scrubby sponge.
  4. That’s it!

Ideas for creating your fun seasonal art pieces using Dollar Tree Self-Adhesive Wall Tiles:

Think of seasons and what represents shape or item represents them.  Get creative.  You can cut these into any shape you want.

Spring – hearts, carrots, bunnies, shamrocks, Easter eggs

Summer – beach shapes, butterflies, and summer flowers

Fall – leaves, acorns, pumpkins, and candy corn

Winter/ Christmas – mittens, trees, snowflakes

Non- Seasonal – Churches, Crosses, Mason Jars, and Stars

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope these ideas have inspired you to create your own seasonal art pieces using Self-Adhesive Wall Tiles from Dollar Tree. If you need even more inspiration, here’s my Youtube Dollar Tree Craft playlist! Have fun.
