About Hiedi

My crafting & DIY story began as a little girl in Idaho. My mom and both grandmothers were avid crafters and sewers. Paint by numbers, rug hooking, crocheting baby doll booties, making stuffed animals, tole painting, sewing Barbie pants, and endlessly rearranging the furniture in my Barbie house. I crafted all through my teen years too.

After graduating from high school I took a kind of unusual path into the online crafting world. I got an undergraduate degree in French and then went to Law School. When my first son was born I left my law practice. When he was about 1 year old I started my own business in direct sales with Creative Memories. I loved teaching people how to safely and creatively preserve their cherished photos. Next up was my Southern

Living at HOME business. I loved sharing creative decorating and entertaining ideas with the guests at my parties. Fast forward a few years when I started my creative online business, DiyDreaming.

I have loved teaching creative crafting and DIY projects via the internet and social media with DiyDreaming. I really should have been a teacher and not a lawyer. My craft and DIY projects are quick and easy, affordable, unique and they almost always involve Faith - Family - or Flowers. I do a wide variety of craft projects and give step by step instructions.

I hope my blog will inspire and motivate you to Create a Beautiful Life!

About
DiyDreaming

In early 2018 I took the plunge and started DiyDreaming. A friend encouraged me to get brave and film my first FaceBook LIVE video tutorial. I was so scared but I did it anyways. I have loved crafting on DiyDreaming ever since then! I try to mix up the kinds of craft projects I do because I don’t want anyone to be bored with me or think that I only do one kind of craft projects. I really like to do craft projects that are quick and easy, affordable, unique and they almost always involve Faith - Family - or Flowers.

Vintage books, buttons and thrift store finds are my favorites. I love making soft signs that I call “stuffies” using canvas duck and painters drop cloth. Most of the craft projects I create are pretty neutral but can be recreated in bolder colors if that is what you like. One of my followers
named me “the queen of cream” and I accept that title gladly!

About my Faith

I am a Christ follower and attend a non-denominational church. I talk frequently about my faith on DiyDreaming and do some weekly devotions. On Sundays I do a program called Christ & Crafting. It’s my favorite day of the week to create. This life we live is hard, but God is good.

DIY Boho Mandala Lace Stenciled Jean Jacket

One of my all-time favorite projects is my stenciled Boho Mandala Lace Jean Jacket. I made it in May of 2020. It was super easy and I get a ton of compliments every time I wear it!

Cotton Candy Tulle Christmas Trees & Lacy Canvas Rag Trees

I love Christmas crafting and these Tulle Christmas Trees and Canvas Rag Trees turned out so good. The cotton candy colors make me smile just thinking of them.
