Instructions:

Making unique book pumpkins is so much fun and who said that pumpkins have to be round and orange.  They can also be rectangles and teal!

  1.  You will need 3 hollow book boxes and /or 3 hardcover books in descending sizes.  If using hardcover books you will remove and discard the book jackets.
  2. Paint each book 2 coats of paint.  I used a mix of blue colors of Waverly paint to create the teal color on my hollow books.  I used Waverly in Pumpkin for the hardcover books.
  3. Spray clear matte sealer spray on each book once dry.  This will help you get a crisp stencil impression.
  4. Once dry you will lay the all-over patterned stencils on each book and use a squeegee to press Almond Latte Chalk Paste through the mesh on the stencils.  Remove stencils promptly and spray with cool water to wash.  Lay them on the counter with the sticky side up to dry.
  5. Wrap jute around the tummy of your books 3 times and tie.  Add a button of your choice.
  6. Glue a wood stem on the center top of each book.
  7. That’s it!  Easy Peasy and fabulous!  Get creative with your color choices and embellishments.

These unique book pumpkins were pretty quick and easy to do. I love how affordable and unique each set is.  If you would like to learn more about this project you can check out my full video tutorial on Facebook or YouTube.
