How, when and why to use Magnolia’s pattern stencils.
Have you ever used a pattern stencil from Magnolia Design Co? If not, NOW is the time to start! I believe that the pattern stencils are the most cost-effective stencils to use. Why? They are timeless and can be used in a multitude of ways and throughout every season! Let’s explore how I use the different pattern stencils from Magnolia.
The stencil that I used on all of the denim pieces above, is called Mandala Lace. It is one of my favorite stencils and I can’t even count the number of projects that I have used all or at least part of it on!! You can find it here: Mandala Lace-https://bit.ly/3mmpyqt
Not only have I used the Mandala Lace stencil on denim, I have also used it on pillows. As you can see above, I’ve used the entire stencil on a pillow and then used 1/2 of it on the edges of another pillow. I also made a summer beach tote with the Mandala Lace stencil. The beauty of this stencil is unsurpassed!
Using a pattern stencil can make the ordinary look extraordinary. Let your imagination run with all of the ways that you can use all of the Magnolia Pattern stencils.
Right up at the top of my list of favorite pattern stencils, is the Victorian Pattern stencil shown above. This stencil can be found here:

Look at the amazing projects above. I used the Victorian Pattern stencil as the background on a cutting board, and on an old window that I found. Can you believe how versatile this stencil is?
Look at the variety of ways I used the Victorian Pattern stencil here: Fall, Summer, Christmas, Easter, and for non-seasonal books. Notice the tone on tone black canvas with the Victorian Pattern also done in black Chalk Paste. You can’t beat a stencil that can be used all year long!
Above, I used the Cross Pattern stencil on a pillow wrap found here: Pillow Wraps (2 Pk) – https://bit.ly/40MD377 on a denim jacket, also on a book cover, and 2 wood surfaces. The Cross Pattern Stencil is another stencil that is appropriate to use all year long.
Pattern stencils are great for decorating t-shirt sleeves and sweatshirt pockets. Look at how special each of these shirts look. I love having people ask me “where did you get that shirt”, and being able to tell them, “I made it!”
